The Market Is Bigger Than Ever

The supplement category crossed $50 billion. So did the competition.

The brands gaining ground are winning on execution, not category tailwinds. The ones losing ground are being outspent, out-ranked, and out-acquired by competitors who have figured out the channel dynamics that matter.

Amazon remains the dominant discovery platform for vitamins, proteins, gut health, sleep, and sports nutrition. But Amazon is not a passive listing exercise for supplement brands. Platform enforcement of ingredient restrictions has tightened. COA documentation requirements have expanded. Buy box integrity erodes the moment a reseller enters your listing with a lower price.

TikTok Shop emerged as a genuine acquisition channel through 2024 and 2025. Brands that moved early have customer acquisition cost advantages later entrants will struggle to close. Through all of this, the regulatory layer never disappears. This is a category that punishes inexperience quickly.

Where Supplement Brands Get Stuck

The challenges supplement brands are solving right now.

01

Amazon compliance is a problem most agencies are not prepared to handle.

Supplement brands face a compliance layer on Amazon that does not exist in most other categories. Products get flagged for ingredients. Listings get suppressed without warning. COA requirements evolve faster than most brands track. When a flagship product representing the majority of Amazon revenue gets flagged, the recovery window is not a performance metric. It is a survival question.

02

Health claim restrictions reshape every channel.

Every channel a supplement brand operates in carries FDA-compliant language requirements. Need-state framing, ingredient education, and ‘supports’ language are not limitations to route around. They are the creative brief. Agencies without category experience produce content that gets disapproved, generates platform flags, and creates legal exposure.

03

Customer acquisition is expensive and getting more crowded.

Pre-workout, vitamins, protein, and gut health are among the most competitive paid media categories in ecommerce. Winning requires a creator and affiliate strategy that reaches audiences before they are searching, a paid media structure that separates acquisition from retention economics, and an Amazon presence that competes on more than daily bid adjustments.

04

The DTC and Amazon relationship is more complicated than expected.

Brand awareness spend on YouTube influences Amazon conversion rates for the same product. Discount-heavy Amazon promotions pull DTC revenue that would have converted at full margin. The two channels need to be planned together, with shared visibility into how spend in one moves performance in the other.

05

New product launches require a coordinated playbook.

Each launch is a chance to climb Amazon’s category rankings, capture early reviews, and build organic momentum, or to miss the window entirely and leave the product buried in search results for months. The launch strategy matters as much as the product itself.

Case in point

A pre-workout client got flagged by Amazon. Here is how we handled it.

50%

daily revenue drop at flag event

0%

drop in category rank throughout reinstatement

The flagship product on a top-7 ranked pre-workout brand was flagged by Amazon overnight. Daily revenue dropped by more than half. For most brands and most agencies, that is the start of a multi-week scramble that ends with category rank gone and competitors filling the gap.

We had COA documentation and ingredient compliance records already maintained, so the reinstatement case was opened the same day with the documentation Amazon needed. While the case worked through Seller Support, we redirected DSP and sponsored ad spend to keep traffic flowing to in-stock SKUs and protect the brand’s category position.

The product came back online with category rank intact. The brand exceeded $17M in Amazon sales over the following 12 months. This is the difference between an agency that has lived through supplement compliance and one that has not.

We know what this product category looks and feels like at the brand level.

Why Supplement Brands Work With eAccountable

We have managed over $900M in supplement revenue across every channel that matters.

We have worked with more than 20 supplement and nutraceutical brands across pre-workout, nootropics, vitamins, gut health, keto, mushroom and superfood blends, electrolytes, collagen, sleep, sports nutrition, women’s wellness, and juice cleanse.

We have been through product flagging on a Monday and managed the reinstatement. We have scaled TikTok Shop programs from zero to $100K per month. We have built affiliate programs generating eight figures in annual revenue for a single supplement brand. We are co-developing the $100M DTC growth strategy for a brand with more than 44 million global subscribers.

On Amazon, we manage the full infrastructure, not isolated campaigns. On Affiliate and Performance PR, we build programs with the publisher depth and commission architecture the supplement category demands. Paid search, paid social, TikTok Shop, SEO, and email layer in as the brand’s stage requires.

Our Capabilities for FinTech Brands

One connected system, all working together.

Sponsored ads structured around product-level margins, DSP for retargeting and new-to-brand, AMC audience architecture for LTV and path-to-purchase. Compliance is a standing operational function: COA documentation, ingredient reviews, flagged-product reinstatement, reseller suppression.

Tiered commission structures that prioritize new customer acquisition. Active outreach across creator networks, health and fitness publishers, coupon and loyalty partners, and review publications. Attribution integration so commission spend is tied to incremental revenue, not last-click credit.

Campaign structures built around branded intent, competitive conquest, and non-branded category terms, each with separate ROAS targets and bidding logic. Customer-level signals fed into attribution models that go beyond platform-reported conversion data.

Meta and TikTok creative built on three formats that work in this category: education-led content, product clarity, and social proof. Every brief includes a health claim review. Third-party attribution measures true new-customer economics, not in-platform overstatement.

Full program management: product listing optimization, creator and affiliate outreach, UGC seeding and amplification, and paid support behind top-performing organic content. The creator program is the engine. Paid is the accelerant.

Optimization of collection and product pages, content built around non-branded intent, and category authority that holds through algorithm changes. With AI search increasingly surfacing supplement products, we build for generative-engine visibility alongside traditional rankings.

What We’ve Built for Supplement Brands

Real work and real numbers across the supplement category

Case Study

Pre-Workout Supplement Brand

When their flagship product was flagged by Amazon and daily revenue dropped by more than half, we navigated the reinstatement while holding category rank throughout. A secondary sleep supplement SKU went from $19K to $198K in a single quarter, 898% YoY, through proper DSP allocation. On paid search, we scaled the same brand to $16M in annual SEM revenue, a 230% YoY increase, with brand search campaigns sustaining above $100 ROAS. Amazon, DSP, AMC, paid search, paid social, and affiliate were managed simultaneously as one program.

Vitamins & Supplements DTC Brand

A vitamins and supplement brand we manage for DTC growth generated $809K from Google paid search in a single month at a $3.14 ROAS with a $22 customer acquisition cost. Their affiliate program produced $1.419 million in its first quarter at a 10.38 ROAS. We are co-developing their strategy to move from $50M to $100M in DTC revenue.

How we work

What working together actually looks like.

We start with a direct conversation about where your brand is and where you are trying to go. No generic audit deck. A real look at your channel performance, your category position, and what a growth plan that fits your stage actually requires.

The first 30 to 60 days are diagnostic and structural. We fix what is broken, build what is missing, and establish the measurement foundation before we scale anything. We run weekly calls, produce reporting you can act on, and we tell you what is not working as clearly as we tell you what is.

We hold ourselves to the metrics that matter in this category: new customer acquisition cost, new-to-brand rate on Amazon, ROAS by channel and by product, LTV cohort development, and category share of voice. We manage your channels as one integrated program.

Frequently asked questions

Both. Several of our longest supplement relationships began as Amazon-first brands that expanded to DTC as they matured. Others came to us as DTC-first brands that needed Amazon managed properly alongside the direct channel. The right mix depends on your stage, margin structure, and customer acquisition economics. We have the depth to manage both and the experience to advise on how they should interact rather than compete.

We treat compliance as an ongoing operational function, not an exception case. Before any product launches, we review the ingredient list against Amazon’s current restricted substance guidelines. We maintain COA documentation as part of standard account management. We monitor listings actively for flags. When a product gets flagged, we have a documented reinstatement process built from direct experience navigating this at significant scale. This is one of the clearest areas of differentiation between an agency with real supplement experience and one without it.

For an established supplement brand, we build a tiered commission structure that pays differently for new customer acquisition versus returning customer conversions, recruit actively across creator networks, health and fitness content publishers, coupon and loyalty partners, and review publications, and integrate attribution tools to measure genuine incrementality. Active outreach is a standard part of how we operate, not an occasional initiative. 50 new publisher contacts in a single month is a normal cadence for us in this category.

Every creative brief we produce for a supplement brand includes a health claim review as a standard step. We write to need states and ingredient education, not outcome guarantees. We know what Meta, Google, TikTok, and Amazon will and will not approve in this category, and we build creative systems that perform within those constraints rather than learning where the limits are after a disapproval.

Most of our supplement clients are in the $10M to $200M range, scaling specific channels or building omnichannel infrastructure for the first time. We also work with PE-backed supplement brands on pre-acquisition due diligence audits and post-acquisition growth strategy. If you are earlier-stage but growing fast and serious about the investment, the conversation is still worth having.

Yes, and for a supplement brand at growth stage, we think you should insist on it from any agency you hire. Several of our supplement relationships involve managing Amazon, DSP, paid search, paid social, affiliate, and TikTok Shop simultaneously. Managing those as one integrated program rather than parallel budget lines is where compounding growth happens. It is also where most agencies fall short.
